We collect nothing. Really.

Erapolis is a single-player game that works entirely on your device. This policy covers the Erapolis app for iPhone and iPad and this website.

The short version

The app collects no data. Nothing about you or how you play is collected, sent, sold or shared, with us or anyone else.
It works offline. The game makes no network connections while you play.
Your saves stay on your device. Your cities are stored only in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad.
No analytics, no ads, no accounts. There are no tracking or advertising SDKs, no sign-in, and no in-app purchases.
This website sets no tracking cookies. In fact it sets no cookies at all, and loads nothing from other companies.

The app

What we collect

Nothing. Erapolis does not collect personal information, device identifiers, location, contacts, photos, usage statistics, crash reports, or any other data. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it does not track you across apps or websites. In Apple's terms, the app's privacy label is "Data Not Collected".

If you have turned on sharing crash data and analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may pass anonymous crash reports to developers through its own systems. That is a choice you make with Apple, not something Erapolis adds.

What stays on your device

To let you carry on where you left off, the app stores on your device:

your cities (the island, buildings, resources and progress), as save files in the app's private storage;
a few settings, such as whether you have seen the tutorial, your sound, music and haptics choices, and the day-and-night setting.

This information never leaves your device through Erapolis. If you use iCloud Backup or back up your device to a computer, your device may include the app's files in that backup, as it does for other apps; that backup is handled by Apple or your computer, and we have no access to it.

To delete everything, delete a city from the Cities list, or delete the app.

Network access

Erapolis plays fully offline. The only links that leave the app are the ones you choose to tap in Settings (this website, its wiki and this policy), which open in your browser.

Children

Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.

This website

erapolis.com is a plain information site. It uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising, no social-media widgets, and no fonts, scripts or images from other servers. Every file is served from erapolis.com.

Like any web server, ours briefly records standard request information (such as IP address, requested page, date and browser type) in server logs, which are used only to keep the site running and secure. We do not use them to identify or profile visitors, and we do not share them.

Changes

If Erapolis ever changes how it handles data, we will update this page and the date above before the change ships, and the App Store privacy label will match.
