Guide
The coach and your goals
How the guided tutorial teaches your first city, the one-time tips that explain new features, and the goals that lead you through every age.
The guided first city
Your first city is taught by doing. A spotlight dims the screen around the one thing to touch, and a short card says what to do:
- Open Build, choose the House and tap Place; then place two more homes.
- Pick up the Road tool, drag along the arrow and tap Build.
- Open the Food tab and place a Forager's Camp beside fertile meadow.
- Tap a finished house to read its needs, then dig a Well where it reaches the most homes.
- Meet the goal card and the time control, and tap Start building.
While the coach waits for you, the city holds still. If you are short of something, it points at that resource and lets time run until you can afford it. You can Skip tutorial at any step, and Undo takes a step back too.
Tips that appear once
Later, the coach explains a feature the first time you meet it and then never again: your first event, a food or worker shortage, a building in ruins, a new age, your first wonder, and the road tool. Each tip closes with Got it.
Goals
The goal card near the top of the screen shows the current goal and how close you are. Tap it to open the Journal: every goal of the age with its progress and reward, the ages ahead and their wonders, and your city's recent news. Most goals pay a one-off reward of resources when you reach them, and the last goal of every age is its wonder.
If you undo the action that completed a goal and the city no longer meets it, the goal reopens and its reward is taken back.
